Notre tissu signature : le coton tissé Agaliawamu
"Those who are together". This is the name of our signature fabric Agaliawamu, a contraction of the two Swahili words agali and ewamu. This formula, dear to Sharon, our partner in Uganda, takes its origin from this Ugandan proverb:
"Agali ewamu gegaluma enyama"
"The ones that are together are the ones that bite the meat."
This saying reminds us that together we can accomplish amazing things. This fabric also pays homage to the women weavers of the Arise and Shine Uganda association, created by Sharon in 2010, and who now make a living from their passion and their know-how.
